1920s Men's Housecoat, Dressing Gown or Bathrobe

Dating from the 1920s this dressing gown or bathrobe is very reminiscent of Noel Coward and a Gentleman’s Club. With all the details you could want on a housecoat; button front closure; long sleeves with turn-back cuffs; tie belt; shawl collar; and patch pockets! Comfort never looked so good.

Offered here as: Paper Pattern. This pattern is also available as a PDF download.

        Fabric Amount Guide

        Chest: 42” (106.7cm)
        27” wide Without nap, 7 1/8 yds.
        54” wide Without nap, 3 5/8 yds.
        72” wide Without nap, 2 5/8 yds.

3/8” is allowed on all seam-edges for finishing. All seams are indicated by broken lines, all cutting lines by continuous heavy lines. A blank margin surrounds every piece, making it easier to cut accurately. Every mark is important for the construction, so before removing the Pattern from the material, mark carefully with tracking wheel, tailor’s chalk or thread markings.
