Shorts Sewing Patterns: 1950s & 60s
Comfort and practicality are what men want in a pair of shorts and what’s more important than that! Vintage clothing for men is returning to many wardrobes. During the 1950s and 1960s not only did women's hem-lines move upwards, but (think rock n roll)! men's shorts also became very popular indeed, because of the increasing interest of lounge-wear. Shorts weren't just for the beach anymore. Men were beginning to prefer them as an alternative to pants to lounge about the house or to go out with friends and family. The most popular style of short was called walking shorts or Bermuda shorts as they are commonly known today. These shorts were often found in plaid or solid colours and made of breathable fabrics such as cotton or linen. Be a rebel and create your own unique style from our range of retro men's shorts.
