Pants, Trousers & Slacks Sewing Patterns
Feel like a movie star! Hollywood, here I come! Make a statement and step out in style with our retro 1940s & 1950s men’s pants, slacks, trousers, which have the detail, that you just don’t see anywhere, outside of true vintage! Trousers were usually flat-fronted or with single pleats. They were worn at the high waist with approximately a three- inch waistband. Trouser legs were wide around the ankle or as later named – baggy or oxford bags. They were either straight hemmed at the bottom as the war required. The men’s fashion soon preferred having a two- inch trouser cuff or turn-up as they were later called. This style of trouser, was the opposite of the skinny trousers of today, which are more like the 1960s ‘peg’ or tapered trousers. Whether your style is high waisted, turned-up hems, pin-tuck, wide or narrow leg, retro or rockabilly, we have styles to suit every man. Fashion isn’t always new, with the discerning gentlemen always looking toward the golden age of menswear (1930-1960) for inspiration to add to their latest wardrobe. Make them the backbone of your wardrobe that you deserve. Create that perfect fit, have the unique style and comfort that you deserve with our vintage sewing patterns for pants including our popular men’s breeches pattern.
