Wedding Dresses & Gowns and Prom Dresses: 1930s, 40s, 50s & 60s
Wedding dresses were typically simple in the 1930s, with figure-skimming silhouettes, high necklines, and long sleeves which continued into the 1940s. Ball gowns with huge skirts dominated bridal fashion in the early 1950s with strapless styles also coming into fashion as the decade progressed. In the 1960s dresses got shorter — and mutton sleeves became fashionable. In the 1970s Dior debuted a high-neck dress with "big sleeves with a puff at the elbow" in the 1970s, brides went crazy for the trend. This collection of vintage wedding dress patterns includes glamorous designs from these eras including Tea Length, Regal and Grace Kelly influenced style of dress patterns.
