Waistcoats/Vests & Ties Sewing Patterns
Feel like you have won the lottery. You have arrived at one of our finest collections of vintage menswear. Don't you just love a man in a waistcoat and tie? There are many ways to wear a waistcoat. Do you prefer a waistcoat to jazz up your jeans or pair it with a suit? Whichever you choose, you can create your own individual style! Stars of all Hollywood eras love to wear a waistcoat. Past and present you will see waistcoats in dramas depicting the era and also in modern-day. The vest as it was originally named, later became the ‘waistcoat’ as fashion demanded a shorter waist-level cut. A properly fitted waistcoat should be snug in the body but not so tight that the buttons pull. It should be long enough to fit just below the trouser waistband, showing no dress shirt between the two garments. Ties are from the 1930s and 1940s, which was a colourful time for men’s fashion, where men could demonstrate their own personality, with bright and bold colour ways to add to that stylish finishing touch.
Our vintage sewing pattern collection is available in sizes ranging from XXS – XXL. We offer either the original pattern, a high-quality true to scale sewing pattern reproduction or an easy PDF sewing pattern to download at home.
