        40s Wartime Beret Hat & Mittens

        THE original gloves were knitted in Munrospun Glenesk Wool, a fine 2-ply. They may also be made in an average 2 –ply fingering, allowing approximately 1 ½ ozs. And using No. 15 knitting needles.

        Overall length, 11”; width across back of hand, above thumb, just over 3”.

        9 sts. and 14 rows to 1” over the pattern, after pressing.

        Fabric Amount Guide

        FAIR ISLE BERET & GLOVES
        2 ozs. Of 3-ply Mian Colour and ¼ to ½ oz. of 3 other Colours.

        1 oz. of Munro spun Glenesk Wool and a small quantity in a darker shade for wristband; 1 pair No. 14 knitting needles; 2 small press-studs.

        NOTE: Sts. in brackets must be worked along row the number of times quoted after 2nd bracket or until stated number of sts. remain.
