How to Measure Your Bust

  1. Wear a well-fitting bra.
  2. Wrap a measuring tape around the fullest part of your bust.
  3. Keep the tape level across your back and comfortably snug, without pulling it tight.
  4. Record your measurement in inches or centimetres and compare it with our size chart.

For the best fit, always choose your pattern size based on your body measurements, not your usual shop size. Always check your bust measurement before ordering!

The PDF pattern is easy to download and put together and the instructions are simple to understand if you know how to put a dress together. I was on a time crunch and didn’t have time to do a mock up so it’s a bit tight, but overall the adjustments made are very easy to make to larger sizes. I would recommend adding a good bit extra to the bottoms sides of the skirt for more flare as there’s not a whole lot to start with. And the shoulder pads were easy to put together and really elevate the look in a subtle way.

I had a bit of an issue with the file at first. It was corrupted, or something, and wouldn’t print. I contacted the shop, and Gill was absolutely wonderful about sending it again so I could finally get it done. Can’t wait to get to sewing on my holiday dress!
