40s Men's Suave Tie & Bow Tie Set

A great way to use up dress remnants, this pattern features two styles of bowtie and two styles of necktie. The bow tie is cut on the straight of the material and is interlined and faced, with either square or pointed ends. The bias tie is given in two lengths 45" and 47". The 45" length is cut in three sections to allow for the use of less material and the 47" is cut in two sections. The bias tie may be lined or unlined. The interlining pattern is given as well as instructions for cutting a cardboard pressing board to keep the tie in good shape when pressing.

Offered here as: Paper Pattern. This pattern is also available as a PDF download.

Sizes

Adult, Bow Tie. Bias Ties are given in two lengths: 45" (114.3cm) and 47"(119.5cm)

Use the size chart above to find your closest modern-day size equivalent in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the USA or Canada, using your bust measurement in inches or centimetres.

How to Measure Your Bust

  1. Wear a well-fitting bra.
  2. Wrap a measuring tape around the fullest part of your bust.
  3. Keep the tape level across your back and comfortably snug, without pulling it tight.
  4. Record your measurement in inches or centimetres and compare it with our size chart.

For the best fit, always choose your pattern size based on your body measurements, not your usual shop size. Always check your bust measurement before ordering!
