How to Measure Your Bust

  1. Wear a well-fitting bra.
  2. Wrap a measuring tape around the fullest part of your bust.
  3. Keep the tape level across your back and comfortably snug, without pulling it tight.
  4. Record your measurement in inches or centimetres and compare it with our size chart.

For the best fit, always choose your pattern size based on your body measurements, not your usual shop size. Always check your bust measurement before ordering!

This dress turned out wonderfully! I wore it to a ball.
I recommend printing the pattern full-scale at a print shop. Or order her pre-printed version. The pieces are so large, it would take forever to print at home and assemble.
Instructions are the original 1950s, so you have to follow closely, as they don’t give extra information. I assume it’s because everyone knew the basics of sewing back then. So, I recommend having some experience under your belt before tackling this project.
